“The power under the constitution will always be in the people. It is entrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their own choosing; and whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can and undoubtedly will, be recalled.”

"Stick It To Walker"

From Michelle Malkin, a nationally syndicated columnist, comes her latest column:
May Day: The Wisconsin Witch Hunt Goes National

On May 1, left-wing vigilantes will target companies across the country that have committed a mortal sin: sending donations to GOP Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin. Rest assured, such intolerable acts of political free speech will not go unpunished by tolerant Big Labor activists. They’re calling for both a national boycott of Walker’s corporate donors and a coordinated sticker vandalism campaign on GOP-tainted products.
As they say, read the whole thing.  Michelle provides links to Facebook pages that are supporting a Wisconsin BUY-cott.  One page lists Wisconsin products sold across the nation, and I copied it to this blog for those who don't use Facebook.

Why is Obama Unamerican?

Update (27 April 2011):  The birth certificate is no longer an issue.  If it ever was.

Anti-Human Humans

 The Rise Of Mother Earth:
"The United Nations will soon consider a draft treaty penned by Bolivian President Evo Morales that would radically transform international law. If enacted, the treaty based on Bolivia’s recently-passed “Law of Mother Earth,” would give plants, animals, and bugs (daffodils, salamanders, and grasshoppers) the same legal rights as human beings.

What could be wrong with that? After all, Earth Day is coming up, which is like Mother’s Day for those who love Mother Earth. Who doesn’t love their Mother?

There is nothing wrong with loving Mother Earth. The problem is that many people who profess their love for Mother Earth also preach scorn for their brothers and sisters in the human race."

Obama working hard to solve the mystery of the rising gas prices

In the run up to the 2008 elections, the media exoriated President Bush for high gas prices whenever it hit $3 a gallon.

But when President Obama finally forms a task force to "examine gas prices", weeks after prices have risen well above the 2008 levels (nearly $4 a gallon!), and in the midst of an economic crisis, the media is saying "Yeah, dude, go for it!  We got your back."

HB 2067 update: Pulled!!!!

Earlier, we warned everyone about HB 2067, "Eliminating Reimbursement for Defense Costs of Persons Acquitted on the Basis of Self-Defense", and urged everyone to contact legislators to kill this bill.

What with the rally and all, I forgot to update you on this:  the bill was pulled from the Ways & Means agenda, and is currently not being considered for this session.  The responses I received from various representatives indicate that the bill was pulled because of all the calls and e-mails in opposition to the bill.  There were very few contacts in support of it.

HB 2067 should be dead for this session of the state legislature, but it's possible to be revived.  And that doesn't mean similar bills won't be offered up as well.  We need to keep our eyes on Olympia.

Thanks to everyone who contacted the legislators in question!

EAT THE RICH!

This is a great video to illustrate the fallacy of the liberal propaganda of taxing the rich.  Bill Whittle simply and dramatically demolishes the myth promoted by Michael Moore and his like-minded "class envy" cohorts, i.e.: that "the rich" are the source of all our country's problems due to their greed and stinginess, not paying "their fair share" .

President Barack Obama's First Ad of 2012

A great ad, courtesy of the Patriot Action Network:

U.S. Taxpayers on the Hook for Portugal Bailout

An excellent article from Representative McMorris-Rodgers.   I recommend reading the whole thing, over at Breitbart's "Big Government" .

"US Uncut"

The Left is attempting to co-opt the Tea Party.....again.  The failed "Coffee Party" has been discarded.  Now it's US Uncut, "...a grassroots movement taking direct action against corporate tax cheats and unnecessary and unfair public service cuts across the U.S.

Why, they must be a grassroots movement; it says so right on their website!  And if you believe that, I have this bridge in Brooklyn that you might be interested in buying......

A longtime blogger, known as Zombie, compared and contrasted the Tea Party and US Uncut when both groups held public rallies in a major American city last week.  The report, posted at Pajamas Media, is titled "Tea Party vs. US Uncut: A San Francisco Tax Day Showdown", and is well worth reading.

There are simply too many people addicted to government spending, and they won't go away quietly.   So we are likely to see more of US Uncut, as we continue to move towards fiscal responsibility.

The Honorable Mike Pence
U.S. Representative, Sixth District of Indiana

Today citizens must choose whether they will live as citizens, or subjects.
10:15 - 11: 15 a.m. (EDT) "How Our Economic Liberty Has Been Diminished"
Dr. Paul Moreno
Grewcock Chair in Constitutional History, Hillsdale College

Economic liberty was revered by the Founding Fathers, who enshrined its principles in the Constitution. A hundred years ago, those tenets were attacked by the Progressives, who saw property rights as the protection of special interests, and our Constitution's structure as an impediment to progress as they defined it.

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (EDT) "How Our Economic Liberty Can Be Restored"
Dr. Larry P. Arnn, President, Hillsdale College

Economic liberty can be restored as decisively as it has been lost, but a restoration of constitutional principles cannot happen without citizen understanding and vigilant defense of the principles of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

ACTION ALERT: HB 2067 - Eliminating Reimbursement for Defense Costs of Persons Acquitted on the Basis of Self-Defense

Action Alert Topic: HB 2067 - Eliminating Reimbursement for Defense Costs of Persons Acquitted on the Basis of Self-Defense. Scheduled for public hearing in the House Committee on Ways & Means at 3:30 PM on April 13th.

Membership Action Needed:  The Tri-Cities TEA Party Board and Legislative Committee urgently request that all Tri-Cities TEA Party members voice their concerns by contacting their Representatives and members of the Ways & Means Committee, urging them to vote “NO!” on HB 2067!

“As a citizen of the State of Washington and a member of the Tri-Cities TEA Party, I fully expect my vote to be respected. HB 2067, if enacted, will cause all of us to lose our right of self-defense!”

Description: HB 2067 would repeal RCW 9A.16.110 (Defending against violent crime -- Reimbursement. This is an extremely important “check & balance” feature for prosecutors to use in evaluating whether to prosecute a person as a felon for protecting themselves from violent crime! A protection against an over-zealous prosecutor who would no longer have to concern him/herself from having to reimburse a citizen found innocent of a wrongfully filed felony.
RCW 9A.16.110 serves as an important deterrent to over-zealous law enforcement, prosecutors, and courts; thus protecting our right to self-defense!

Do As I Say, Not As I Do.

This has been on the news for a few days, but from Representative Jim Moran, D-Va:

"If you are a federal employee, I think you need to start conserving whatever financial resources you have. Be very careful about large purchases. Make sure you have enough money at least for the mortgage, or the monthly rent and car payment and so on. Because this could be extended."
On the face, this is sound advice.  And, from this, one would believe that Representative Moran is a fountain of financial wisdom and restraint.

However, prior to the 2010 elections, Representative Moran was the chairman of the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee (and remains on it as the ranking Minority member).  Which means he had a direct role in the current budget fiasco, specifically in that the 111th Congress did NOT pass a budget before adjourning.  Plus, he's a long standing member of the "Tax and Spend" party.

Representative Moran could have helped PREVENT this situation.  His decision to support the Democrat agenda, while offering such conservative financial advice to individual citizens (regardless of whom they work for), is a measure of the disassociation and hypocrisy that we face in Washington, DC, these days.

And it's insight to the people who voted for the financial problems that we face today.  Even as we face a financial meltdown, they continue with their failed policies, and ignore the impact on the American people.

First Ad of Presidential Season

Obama 2012.

Brought to you by the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

UPDATE, 4 April 2011:

The Obama 2012 team actually has released their first, web only video.  But, as Ed Morrissey at Hot Air notes, it's "[t]he Obama 2012 launch, featuring everyone but Obama".
